The Sampson Room The Sampson Room was part of Josiah's bedchamber and is located on the second floor. It has a commanding view of the back lawn and would have overlooked much of Josiah's holdings. The iron queen-size bed is accompanied by an antique rocker, a writing desk, and an antique chest of drawers, and the room has a private bath. The room faces west to receive the light of the setting sun, offering picturesque views of the gazebo, garden, and wooded property beyond.

Josiah Sampson was quite ahead of his time in some ways, and the Sampson Room is an excellent example, with Cape Cod's first indoor plumbing: a bathtub with a drain. Josiah enjoyed daily baths, which was an understandable rarity for his day, as he still required servants to heat the water and tote it up the stairs. This recently-renovated bathroom's thoroughly modern plumbing, including shower/tub, is much more convenient.
